Our Mission
The Lyme Treatment Foundation is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that provides medical treatment grants to people of all ages in the United States, Canada and parts of Europe (the UK and Germany) to fund diagnostic testing and treatment of Lyme disease and the associated tick-borne illnesses.
We provide grants worth up to $4,000 to those in need to help pay for blood tests and long-term treatment of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.
We also award research grants to researchers at universities studying tick-borne diseases around the world. Our first funded research study titled, New pharmacological agents to treat persistent infections is underway at the University of Oxford.
Lyme disease and the associated tick-borne illnesses can be devastating both physically and financially and our goal is to help those who are suffering get an accurate blood test, so that they may receive a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment from a Lyme disease specialist.
Testing for Lyme disease is not 100% accurate, and many with Lyme disease do not test positive with the typical blood tests given in a doctor’s office. Without a positive blood test, doctors are unable to treat these patients. Many suffer for years before being referred to a Lyme disease specialist for private testing and treatment.
While these private labs are accurate, they are also very costly and many cannot afford to get a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment on their own.
Our goal at the Lyme Treatment Foundation is to fund diagnostic testing and treatment for as many as possible, so that those suffering from Lyme disease and the other tick-borne illnesses may go on to live healthy, happy and fulfilling lives.

About Us
The Lyme Treatment Foundation is an international, all volunteer non-profit organization that provides medical treatment grants, worth up to $4,000 USD to people of all ages in Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.
We also award testing grants to those in Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Since launching in 2019, we have awarded more tha $800,000 in treatment and testing grants to people living in Canada, Germany, the UK (England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales) and the United States.
We also began funding tick-borne disease research in the Spring of 2021.
Lyme disease and the associated tick-borne illnesses can be devastating, both physically and financially to those affected. And our goal is to help fund diagnostic testing and treatment for as many as possible.
Lyme disease is often undiagnosed, due to the lack of accurate blood tests. Currently, there is no 100% accurate blood test for Lyme disease or the associated co-infections, often leaving people and families sick with no option for treatment.
Private labs across the country have come up with accurate testing for these tick-borne illnesses, but testing can be very expensive.
A full panel tick-borne disease blood test, which tests for Lyme disease, as well as co-infections, like babesia and bartonella can cost over $1,000 dollars for a single person. So many cannot afford to be diagnosed, and therefore are unable to receive appropriate treatment.
This prolongs the suffering of many, as they become sicker and sicker, some are unable to work, raise their families or go to school.
If they do receive a diagnosis, seeing a Lyme literate physician is very costly as well, typically costing hundreds of dollars for a single visit. With so many being unable to afford this, many suffer indefinitely.
Our mission at the Lyme Treatment Foundation is to help those who are sick and suffering, get properly diagnosed and fund both their diagnostic testing as well as their treatment, from a Lyme literate medical doctor, so that they are properly diagnosed, treated and may go on to live healthy, happy and fulfilling lives!
In April 2021, we launched our biomedical research initiative. We are dedicated to funding biomedical research that will directly impact those suffering from Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.
We are interested in funding research projects that aim to find better treatments and/or therapies to alleviate the suffering of those battling chronic Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. We will begin funding Lyme disease research starting in October 2021.
